External improvements to Otto Pizza

Otto Pizza exterior clean upWestbourne Grove pizza restaurant

On Saturday we were joined by 4 friends who helped us start the clean up and refurbishment work on the outside of our property. As with the rest of our design, we want to reuse what we have, rather than replace things purely on the grounds of aesthetics or modernity. With a bit of clever thinking and lots of elbow grease we are hoping to make the outside of Otto look smarter, whilst remaining faithful to the design characteristics of the original building and shop front.

There were a large amount of wooden window frames to sand down and repaint, as well as some brass sections that had not been cleaned or polished for a while. The dark green art deco tiles also needed washing and polishing.

So a big thank you goes to George, Liz, and Amy for their help on a very sunny Saturday afternoon in Notting Hill, when polishing brass was probably not what they wanted to be doing. In between choosing paint colours for the interior, Rich and I also got our hands (and in Tom’s case his whole face) dirty.

As much as we enjoyed the sunbathing and sanding, it’ll be nice to be able to focus on cooking and serving great pizza soon. It seems so long since we discovered cornmeal crust pizza, we are desperate to show London how good it is.
